Student of the week and Elias turns ONE!!!
Several weeks ago, Ella was selected to be student of the week. She had to create a poster that represented who she is, and she got to perform various tasks throughout the week. She was the door holder, she delivered the prayer each day at snack, she helped with the calendar and was responsible for pointing to the Mustang Pledge each day as the students read it aloud. She took this honor very seriously, and we were very proud of how she handled the responsibility. Here are a few pics of her poster and of her during the week:
Ella also got to bring home Peter Panda who has been on weekly adventures with all of the class helpers. This was a big deal at our house!!
Something else happened just recently, also. Our little man turned ONE!!!! Actually, he not so little anymore. He jumped from the 75th percentile for height up to greater than the 97th for height in about 5 months. He is still holding onto the 85th for weight, which is pretty remarkable since we were all SO concerned about his weight when we received the first bit of information about him. It really is a miracle that he survived those first few months in Ethiopia. He was very tiny. Not so much anymore, though :-) He and Ella still adore each other; they enjoy being WILD! You should hear him squeal when she chases after him...and, oh yes, he is walking. That started about about 10 1/2 months. Here are a few recent pictures of Elias and Ella:
Elias wouldn't eat his cake; he just wanted to squeeze the icing. It was funny to watch. We had a good time being together with our family to celebrate our little man's birthday.
